I am, at heart, a muser of musings. This is the place where I publish the ones that I hope others might find at least somewhat amusing.
When I started the blog, I wasn’t sure exactly what it would be about, and to be honest, I’m still not entirely certain. One of the things I’ve discovered about writing is that, for me at least, it’s almost the opposite of speaking. I am the sort of person who is not inclined to say anything until I know exactly what I want to communicate. When I try to take the same approach with my writing, I usually just end up with a blank page and boatloads of frustration. I’ve learned that most often I just need to start with something, and see where it goes.
The something that is the start of each of my posts is reflection. Often I’ll look back on experiences I’ve had; other times I’ll make some observations about what I see happening in the world around me. In either case, my hope is to offer my readers an interesting little read that most often (hopefully) includes a mix of humour and insight.
One of the questions I thought I needed to answer when I started out was whether this would be a Christian blog. What I’ve discovered is that I don’t really need to make that decision. I reflect, and I write. Because I am a Christian, that perspective is part of who I am. As a result, some of my posts would be categorized as Christian. Others, however, do not mention God or faith at all. Either way it’s a part of the reflection process for me, ideally informing everything I do and say.
Thanks for checking out reflections. If you find a post or two that you enjoy, stick around. Who knows, maybe we’ll figure this all out together.
